National Disaster Preparedness Month kicked off this morning at the Taipei Science Education Center.
In his remarks, Premier Chou Rong-Tai said, “We hope for the best, but must prepare for the worst.” Indeed, when disaster strikes, all the work that we put in on good days, will help to save lives and keep our communities together. “Resilience” requires a collection effort: from government to civil society, from elected leaders to citizens.
I thought Minister of Education Cheng Ying-Yao put it wonderfully when he said, “Readiness is a lifestyle.” This month, Forward Alliance and our partners will together celebrate the culture of being prepared.
Big thanks to the National Fire Agency for including us in the ceremony. It was great to see our government and civil society partners!
